About Us : I live in the central coast of California, and totally enjoy this area of the world with its rich history (Monterey, the original capitol of California), diversity in landscapes and dramatic Pacific coast scenery.
The landscape can literally change from the Pacific ocean to mountains to farmlands in a matter of minutes! It is a place of joy and wonder for those interested in capturing its natural beauty through the lens.
There's not a lot of traffic, there's still a small town feel to the place and parking is not an issue. This area boasts the cleanest air in the entire country!

I live in the central coast of California, and totally enjoy this area ...

4.21.09 6:24 am. This was taken just a few minutes ago, downloaded and uploaded. It's going to be another scorcher today by the looks of the sky.

4.28.09 A rose is a rose for a Tuesday upload. This one of one my Easter roses set on the dinner table. I bought a bunch for $3.99 from my local fruit and vegetable market.

6.8.09 A harbor seal swimming in the murky waters of Moss Landing. He did not like me shooting his portrait, he kept barking at me to stop ;-)

5.06.09 Life lines of the belly of a geranium leaf.

May 23, 2009: I have not been very lucky at bird captures, only because I think that my energy (a little too much) scares them off! While I took this photo the parents were trying to attack me by swooping so close by my face and head that I freaked and ran into the house! This is the only photo I took of these birds. The nest is located near my front door.

Sour Yet Sweet...

4.22.09 LOL...this is my first bug capture. The ladybug kept turning around on the fennel leaves and I couldn't capture the top part of it. It finally fell into the leaves and I couldn't find it afterward. In the few years that I have been on photosharing sites (I am still a Flickr member) I have not been able to take one at a close distance, this is not a real macro but close enough. This was taken with my Canon 18 - 55 mm kit lens.

4.25.09 When we had the heatwave, the residents of this peninsula went all out to be outdoors to enjoy the high temperatures. Here this young girl took out her violin and with her dad as the accompanist with the guitar began to play for folks strolling near the harbor. Everyone was out and about that evening enjoying the weather. It was a magical few days that unfortunately only lasted three whole days!

4.27.09 Marina State Beach, California. This beach is raw, wild and windy! The surf here is huge. For those that are unfamiliar the Monterey Peninsula, it is comprised of the following small cities: Moss Landing, Castroville, Salinas, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel by the Sea and Carmel Valley. Each city has its own beach with exception to Salinas and Castroville. Castroville is a sleepy little town that has the best artichokes in the world, and do you know that Marilyn Monroe was once Miss Castroville (Artichoke)?

I have two daily shots today. The poppies to my right were found on this beach. I was still trying my upload speed. Its still slow...

BTW: Is anyone experiencing slow uploads on SM? Its been a week since I've been experiencing this. One upload can take as long as 3 - 5 minutes. I have sent communication back and forth to the help team. They seem to think its my computer, but I upload on my other stream and it does fine. Please let me know if you are also experiencing a slow upload and ungodly slowness when you navigate through the streams on SM.

4.26.09 A textured piece of the garden. I overlayed this image with a concrete texture, and burned it. This was taken right when the sun was coming up and the color was a beautiful, yummy, golden color!
